Survey by the General Pharmaceutical Council


The General Pharmaceutical Council regulates pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacies in Great Britain.

Their role is to protect the public and give them assurance that they will receive safe and effective care when using pharmacy services.

One of their tasks is to investigate concerns about pharmacists and pharmacy technicians that could suggest there is a risk to patient safety or could affect the public’s confidence in pharmacy. They collect the information that is submitted to them and carefully review and assess all concerns in order to consider whether they need to begin an investigation. They are currently looking at how they investigate concerns in the future and would welcome your views. They are keen to understand what types of concerns might impact on your decision to engage a pharmacy professional’s services and what support you may need if you make a complaint. This will help them to improve their processes.
